Metal Muku iTunes 10 by hotiron Metal Muku iTunes 10 by hotiron
*Updates for 10.1 (54)* I hate the default red-green-yellow Mac "traffic lights" on iTunes and I hate when they do a major update to iTunes and none of the existing themes work! So this is another "Metal Muku" theme, this time for the newly released Mac iTunes 10 if you're into ditching the default. This is a default iTunes 10 .rsrc resource file with all new Metal Muku styled window controls and metallic progress bars. You can use this rsrc file to overwrite the default /Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/Resources/iTunes.rsrc file (make a back-up first) or you can use ThemePark 3 to simply copy over the resources you want (13000 to 13042 for the controls and other misc for the progress pars) if you are using some other iTunes 10 theme. This is for anyone out there who might be using the Metalik Muku Snow Leopard theme [link] as always, credit and a special thanks to Daisuke Yamashita [link] for the original Muku theme and Jesse Dodds [link] for the Metal Muku theme on which this is based. *Updated for iTunes 10.1 (54)*

The download is an iTunes replacement resource file so you unzip it and copy/overwrite the default file at /Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/Resources/iTunes.rsrc (back that file up first). You have to right click on the iTunes app and Show Package Content then browse to the Contents/Resources folder.

Am I the only one for whom the button for the cover art drawer disappears with this resource? Went back and forth to the original where the button's intact, it's definitely Muku's doing.

It's great otherwise.

You're right, not sure how or why that happens. Go ahead and re-download, I've updated the resource file for iTunes 10.0.1 (22) and that fixes the missing cover art drawer button.

uhm.. pardon my ignorance, but i'm not able to overwrite the default iTunes.rsrc file (15.2MB) with your new one (15.1MB). :hmm:
if i try, i get a prompt to enter my admin password, which i did, but then the default file still stays the same (still stays at 15.2MB).
can you help a mac-noob to apply your wonderful work, please? :please:

This can happen. One way is to make a back up copy (an archive) of the original file and then delete it. Once it is deleted and emptied, you can copy in the new file.

nope, that didn't work either.
but i figured that maybe i shouldn't use PathFinder for these operations but to try the regular Finder instead.
..and guess what! it worked like you've described in your "Artist's Comments"!
so, now i'm able to fully enjoy your excellent Metal Muku iTunes, which i already did, shortly before i started this comment. :D
thanks for this awesome share. maybe i'll even try out your Metalik Muku theme as well, although i'm a bit shy as i've never ever played with or used ThemePark before. :hmm:

Led Zeppelin just rocks. Tangerine is one of my favorite songs. They just don't make music like they used to.

Now you're talking! Agreed 100%. I remember them touring when I was a little kid, trying to get tickets back before Bonham died and it all fell apart. I was into them way back then but as the years went by they became one of the centers of my rock world. Now I have their digital discography in iTunes and it's heaven.

I too have the entire discography as well as some of the older bootlegs and BBC sessions. Jimmy Page is a master. Nothing today even compares to Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd.

+1 to the Floyd, actually got to see them in concert. Did my thesis set to Sheep.

You are very lucky. I am only 31, so I missed out on some great concerts. All of them happened well before my time. If only I had a time machine. Very rarely do today's groups actually write their own songs and have talent. Very sad.

Well, I'm 46 so I missed out on the real Zep and only caught the tail-end of the rest. I saw the Momentary Lapse of Reason tour with the flying bed but would have loved to see The Wall, the older stuff, the big inflated pig.
