UPDATE #2: Major overhaul to the folder "platinum" effects including new lighting effects, grain, and shadows.
UPDATE #1: Great comment from ~Lykos below has prompted me to explore a minor tweak to align folder shadows with tag & glyph shadows. Here's what the revision looks like
and here's the icon file from this preview
If anyone caught my teaser Aquave Platinum icons post
you know I've been on an on-again-off-again quest to merge my platinum-ized version of the now historic Aquave Project
icon template from the great Laurent Baumann
with a worthy set of glyphs to create a sort of modern version of Aquave and hopefully play a small part in keeping the project moving forward. My first attempt was to merge "glyphs" from the famous Agua icon set
from another artist, the great David Lanham, to see what they might look like. In my typical ADD fashion I then saw the recent Snow Sabre icon set
on OSXMagazine a great site to check out by the way
from the also incredibly talented minimac aka the great Italian artist Christian Pucci
and fell in love with the exceptionally articulated and wonderfully detailed folder tags. While Snow Sabre already has great folders, I could not help but wonder how those beautiful glyphs would look on the now timeless Aquave folders especially with the platinum grey mod Ive been playing with. So I contacted Signore Pucci and began discussing the project concept. To make a long story a little less long, all permissions were very nicely granted so here's a peek at what the combined works from these incredibly talented artists looks like. What do you think? Is this a project worthy of undertaking? Let me know.
